January 5 (WEDNESDAY) – Senior Strides Starting!

Welcome to 2022! Now that the holidays have flown by, and all the candies and goodies have been eaten – who’s not thinking about perhaps getting a little exercise during these remaining winter months? Join us on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the Gilford Youth Center gym to do a bit of indoor walking! No need to worry about ice or snow or how cold it is outside!!! There’s no charge for the program. Just bring comfortable walking shoes and your own water bottle, and enjoy some social time while getting in your steps. Walk as many laps around the gym as you like, it’s up to you! Chairs will be available to take a break while you’re walking. No need to RSVP – just come, sign up, and join us!!! Just for fun, we may even mix in a little “Poker Walking” as well!!!

January 10 – Bagel Brunch and Bingo

We haven’t played Bingo for a while, so let’s give it a go!! We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 10:00 AM for a tasty brunch of a variety of bagels – we’ll have butter, cream cheese, jelly, and peanut butter for toppings. Coffee, tea, juice, and water will also be available. There will be a $2.00 charge for the bagel brunch. After we’re done with this mid-morning pick-me-up, we’ll start the Bingo. There will be a variety of prizes to the winners of each game, so come and have some fun – and maybe you’ll be the one who gets to shout “BINGO!!!” Please RSVP by Thursday, January 6.

January 26 (WEDNSESAY) – Dessert and a Show

Please join us as we watch the GMS Performing Arts presentation of the romantic fairytale musical “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” As always, the talent and abilities of these Middle School students will delight, entertain, and amaze you! We will be providing a “dessert and coffee” hour, starting at 5:00 PM in the Gilford High School Cafeteria. An array of yummy desserts, coffee, tea, and water will be provided. The show starts promptly at 6:00 PM in the GHS Auditorium. There is NO charge for the performance, but space is limited. PLEASE RSVP NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, JANUARY 21. At the present time, masks are optional in the schools, but this policy is subject to change at any time, so please be prepared to have a mask with you.

February 14 – Lunch and a Movie

Happy Valentine’s Day! Singles or couples, let’s get together for a little food and laughs! We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 AM. We will be providing a variety of sandwiches, pickles, and chips, along with sodas, coffee, tea, and water to drink. We’ll also have cookies for dessert. There will be a $4.00 charge for the lunch. After everyone is served, we’ll sit back and relax while watching the romantic comedy “Crazy Stupid Love.” Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 9.

February 28 – Winter Potluck

Most likely, it has been a LONG, cold winter by now. We all like to eat and try different foods, so how about bringing a favorite appetizer, salad, main dish, or dessert that you would be willing to share with the group? Well, here’s your chance! We’ll have everything set up, and we will start the “food fest” at 11:30 AM at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall. We truly hope you will be able to join us for this fun, eating extravaganza – bring your dish and of course, your appetite! If you have a crockpot and need electricity, we’ll be set up for that. And if you have a copy or copies of your recipe that you could bring, that would be great, too. Please RSVP by Thursday, February 24 and let us know what you will be bringing.
