Senior Moment-um Program

Senior Moment-um is an active senior adult program that meets regularly on Mondays.  This program is open to residents of Gilford and the surrounding communities.

RSVP to the Gilford Parks and Recreation Department by the date specified by calling the office at 527-4722. Unlike in the past, it is now REQUIRED that you RSVP by the date provided.

**Also, the Gilford Community Church is now requiring masks for anyone entering the facility, so please comply. Of course, masks may be removed while eating and/or drinking.**


**October 20 (Wednesday) – Breakfast and Bingo**

Food, fun, and friendship! Please join us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 9:00 AM for breakfast – and a little BINGO thrown in! We will be serving a full breakfast of quiche, hash browns, and a fruit cup. The breakfast cost will be $5.00 per person, with juice, coffee, tea, and water provided as well. After eating, we will play bingo, with a mixture of prizes available to the winners, so be sure to stay and test your LUCK!! Please RSVP by Friday, October 15. 


**October 27 (Wednesday) -- Oktoberfest**

Yes, we’re going to be hosting our own mini “Oktoberfest!!!” Ocktoberfest, an annual festival celebrated in Germany, originated on October 12, 1810. It features parades, delicious German food, and of course,….lots of beer! Please join us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 AM. We will be serving bratwurst, blaukraut (red cabbage), German potatoes, dessert….and root beer!!! The cost will be $10.00 per person, with coffee, tea, and water provided as well. We may even throw in a little Oktoberfest trivia!!! Please RSVP by Friday, October 22.


October 29 (Friday) – Volunteers Needed!

We’re looking for some help with our Town Halloween Party for the children of Gilford, to be held from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Gilford Middle School. We need volunteers to help run our entry tables, raffles, games, crafts and other fun activities. It is guaranteed to be a good time, not too strenuous - and it’s always great to see all the kids in their costumes!! Feel free to dress up yourself! Please give us a call by Wednesday, October 27 if you can give us a hand and arrive a bit early: 5:00 PM!


November 8 – Theme Luncheon “Italiano”

Who doesn’t enjoy Italian food??? Please join us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 AM for an Italian feast. We will be serving baked ziti, chicken parmigiana, meatballs, salad, rolls, and dessert. The cost for the luncheon will be $5.00 per person, with coffee, tea, and water provided as well. Please RSVP by Wednesday, November 3.


November 15 – Continental Breakfast and a Movie

Start the day out right with a tasty breakfast - and a holiday movie added in! Please join us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 9:00 AM for a yummy Continental breakfast consisting of an assortment of homemade crumb cakes, Danish, muffins, breakfast pastries, a fruit cup, and juice. The breakfast will cost $5.00 per person, with coffee, tea, and water provided as well. Once everyone is served, we’ll be watching a holiday movie, “A Family Thanksgiving.” Please RSVP by Thursday, November 11.


December 6 – Game Day and Pizza

Did somebody say…..PIZZA??? Please join us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 AM to enjoy some delicious homemade pizza and play some games. We’ll be serving up some great pizza and tossed salad prior to game play. Then we’ll have a variety of game choices – Scrabble, Rummikub, Trivial Pursuit, Uno, etc.. If you have a fun game at home that you’d like to bring for the group to try, please do so. The cost for the pizza lunch will be $5.00 per person, and we will provide soda, coffee, tea, and water. Please RSVP by Thursday, December 2.


December 13 – Senior Holiday Luncheon

“Happy HO-HO-HO!!!” The holidays are upon us, and it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Please join us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 AM for a full-blown holiday luncheon – with baked country ham, rice pilaf, country green beans, salad, rolls, and an assortment of pies for dessert. We will also have coffee, tea, and water available. If we are lucky, we may have some entertainment provided by students from the Gilford Elementary School – but that is still uncertain. Either way, we hope you can join us for the festivities. There is NO COST for the luncheon but YOU MUST RSVP BY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8. SPACE WILL BE LIMITED.
